Meet Thad

I was raised in the small town of Henry, IL with my sister and parents. My father and grandfather were small business owners dedicated to their communities. I have followed that same path. I worked to put myself through school and become the first in my family to graduate college. In pharmacy school I met my sweet pea (Michelle) and this is where I developed a commitment to community pharmacy.

Almost 30 years of practicing pharmacy has given me the opportunity to work in many different settings. I have owned and operated Fitchburg Family Pharmacy for the past decade where everything we do revolves around the people we serve. To facilitate access, I instituted metro-wide delivery, and during the pandemic, our services helped keep people safe and put kids back in school. As I often say, “Put people first, all else will fall into place.”

As a pharmacist taking care of this community, I have seen the healthcare system struggle to meet the needs of the community. I have seen chain pharmacies work together with drug middlemen to drive up prices and eliminate choices. These big corporations sacrifice patient health for profit. At the same time, we have seen unprecedented attacks on vital services such as reproductive health and gender affirming care. After Roe fell, when I tried to provide patients with the reproductive care that they needed, I was told that I would be risking my pharmacist’s license. Ultimately, it is up to the legislature to pass the reforms needed to solve these problems. That is why I am running for Assembly Dist 77 with Wisconsin’s prescription for change.
